Who we are

A photography house with a family name.

Foto Fundador was born in Guimarães and, over more than three decades, has photographed thousands of weddings, christenings and events. Today we are Fundador Fotógrafos: the same experience, with a contemporary eye and a team where photo and video work side by side.

We like people to feel at ease. We guide you when it helps, step back when it's better, and deliver an album made to outlast us all.

Our approach

Always there, never rushed, no forced poses.

Before the wedding we meet: we talk about your day, the timings, the people who matter and what you have in mind. On the day we work as a team, with photo and video in sync, so we miss nothing without always being in the way.

We guide you when needed, for the family portraits and the couple session, and let the party happen. Afterwards we edit every photograph and cut the film with time.

What couples usually ask us.

How far in advance should we book?

The sooner the better: that way you can be sure your date is kept for you.

Do you cover weddings outside Guimarães?

Yes. We work all over Portugal and abroad too. Tell us about the venue and we'll include travel in the proposal.

How many photographers and videographers come to the wedding?

With Essential, two of us come (1 photographer + 1 videographer). With Classic and Premium, four (2 photographers + 2 videographers).

Do we get all the photos and the film?

Yes. We deliver all the original photos and video in a private online gallery. With Premium they also come on a 1 TB drive.

What is a same day edit?

A short film edited on the day itself, which you watch during the party. It is included in Premium and can be added to the other packs.

Do you do engagement sessions?

Yes, on a day before the wedding, in photography and video. It is included in Premium and can be added to the other packs.

How do we choose the photos for the album?

Online: you choose the photos, approve the album page by page and pick the cover, all from home.

Do you also do christenings and communions?

Yes. Many of our couples come back for their children’s christening and communion.

How we do it

Discreet in church, attentive at the party.

At a christening the star of the day doesn't follow a schedule. So we work calmly, with no flash in the face and without interrupting the ceremony, and we make the most of the baby's happy moments for portraits.

After the ceremony we take portraits with godparents, grandparents and family, and stay at the party for as long as you like.

Communions

Their day, told their way.

By their communion, children have their own tastes and personality, and that's what we want to show: the piano, the dog, their friends, getting ready at home with their parents. We cover the ceremony discreetly and save time for unhurried portraits.

We also photograph group communions for parishes.

About us

From Foto Fundador to Fundador Fotógrafos.

Our story

Over 30 years in Guimarães.

Foto Fundador opened its doors in Guimarães more than three decades ago and became the photography house for many of the city's families: from weddings to christenings, from passport photos to local business events.

Today we are called Fundador Fotógrafos. The name and the way we work have changed, with photo and video side by side and albums approved online, but we still have our studio on Avenida D. Afonso Henriques and the same drive to do things well.
